This course has been designed to stimulate, inspire and motivate you to reach your full potential by challenging your examination skills. We provide appropriate exercises to suit your ability level and help you stretch and challenge yourself. You will develop your mathematical skills and engage in lively classes that cover the following topics and prepare you for your examination: 

  • Number
  • Algebra
  • Ratio, proportion and rates of change
  • Geometry and measures 
  • Probability 
  • Statistics

You will develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts, and acquire, select and apply mathematical techniques to solve problems. This will allow you to reason mathematically, make deductions and inferences and draw conclusions - all whilst developing the skills to comprehend, interpret and communicate mathematical information, in a variety of forms appropriate to the information and context.

You will engage with texts from the 16th century onward, to stimulate your mind allowing you to engage critically and analytically with the text. You will develop higher-order reading and critical thinking skills that encourage genuine enquiry into different topics and themes.

  • Macbeth
  • The Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
  • Animal Farm
  • A  poetry anthology

Assessment is through two terminal examinations.

The fast track option is designed for those students who didn't achieve the grades they required in the previous summer's examination and want the best opportunity to succeed in the November resit examinations. This means you will receive eight weeks intensive tuition followed by two examinations in November.

GCSE Biology 8461 gives you the chance to gain a good understanding of human biology, organisms, evolution and the environment.

The specification is based on a series of topics related to the living world and relevant to students. It is designed to help them understand how Science can be used to explain the world in which they live and the impact humans have.

Students' are encouraged to develop practical skills with hands-on work which helps engage and enthuse them. Students can see how science is used to solve problems ranging from infectious diseases to creating biofuels.

It is suitable for students of all abilities, whether they intend further study in Science or not. It can open the doors to future careers in Medicine and the Life Sciences.
